Mediation

A cost effective alternative for mediating family and business conflict

Mediation Counselling

Mediation Counselling is an alternative to official legal mediation by using the principles of counselling to reach agreement.

I am a  qualified mediator and qualified counsellor with previous experience as a Chartered Accountant. I offer a reasonably priced mediation service, without the legal administrative aspects. This includes the supply of documents that solicitors can use for the settlement, and preparation of the consent order.

Family mediation for separation or divorce

Mediation addresses the division of the all the assets and liabilities (e.g. financial assets, properties, pensions) as well as the custody of children. The aim is to avoid long term, on-going conflicts which are so unsettling for children.

Other family disputes can include wills and estates.

Mediation for business disputes

I have experience mediating in personnel/HR conflicts at the workplace, for individuals for personal issues and/or inter-departmental disputes.

Mediation principles

I ensure each person has their say.

I ensure there is no bias in my approach.

I recognise the emotional difficulties my clients may be going through and make sure they are protected from any additional stress. In some cases I can deal with each person separately and communicate on their behalf.

Each person gives his/her viewpoint. By allowing each person to have their say we prepare the alternatives and work together to reach a compromise.

">If there are child-related issues, we work on enabling each individual to better manage any conflict matters such as parenting or school-related matters.

Write-ups are provided after each session.

The costs for this kind of mediation are considerably lower than having to pay for solicitors.
