Anxiety Counselling

Managing anxiety feelings

Many people suffer from anxiety. Sometimes people develop panic attacks, and often don’t know why they happen. The purpose of counselling is to alleviate the feelings of anxiety and enable the client to manage panic attacks until they are eliminated, or at least minimised.

As anxiety builds up, people believe they can't do certain things, and it gets worse.

During counselling, we explore how the anxiety started and we discuss the physical symptoms.

Progress is made slowly. Some anxieties are easier to work through than others. It's easier to defeat a fear of spiders than panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere.

We recognise there is a way of controlling anxiety, and limiting its debilitating effects, and we discuss methods that the client can use.

I ensure my clients feel comfortable during the counselling. The number of sessions required to make progress depends on how deep-seated the anxiety is, and how long it has been going on.
